The Lakeside Longhorn...

....makes an appearance at our first SPIRIT ASSEMBLY of the school year, then surprises kindergarten with a cameo appearance during recess. Our fabulous PTO moms try to capture it for the yearbook. Congrats to our Patriotic Citizens of the Month.

Mystery Reader

We welcome our first Mystery Reader of the year.  Lakeside has so many involved, caring parents and everyone wins as a result.

Dot Day

K2 gets creative with something simple: the dot.  We were downright dotty in everything, including our clothes. iPads and books were the tools we used to create fun, lasting lessons.

The Rhythm of the Music

Our wonderful music teacher, Mrs. Tuffnell, reads a beloved children's classic to emphasize the rhythm of books. As you might expect, the children are completely engaged. 

Making Memories While Learning

A visit to the enormous and friendly Lakeside library delighted everyone. And we don't think there's a nicer librarian on the planet than Mrs. Bredberg. We can't believe there are more than 20,000 books here. Hmmm, I wonder how many I can read?

First Week Fun

These learners wasted no time shaking off first day jitters and getting down to making friends, learning routines and making lasting memories. We started by reading the book THE KISSING HAND which led us around a tour of the school looking for clues left by that sneaky raccoon, Chester. Lunch and recess were great fun, too.
