We Are Thankful

Everyone in K2 made a turkey feather with words and pictures to show 

what we're thankful for. Put them all together and we've got one collosal 

THANKFUL bird!  It was unanimous: We are thankful for K2.

Book Fair Is Here

Excitement is in the air as our library gets an extreme makeover to become an amazing BOOK FAIR. We visit with our Buddy Class, Mrs. McCown's 2nd graders, who help us write our wish list.

Week In Review

Here are just a few "plearning" experiences we enjoyed this week in K2.

Word Work during Daily 5. This is vowel and consonant identification. We say, "The vowels are glue that hold words together."

Mrs. Timmerman gets everyone thinking about the problem in this book.

Mrs. Smith traveled from her home in California to visit Lakeside and gave us a little geography lesson. Some parents might recognize her as a former kinder teacher and Lakeside's Teacher of the Year 

Community Workers

Such fun & connection to our learning when we present skits about Community Workers to real Community Workers. We loved having Coppell police and fire officials as our audience!

Election Day

A true teachable moment: voting while teaching social studies.

And a proud moment watching my son vote for the first time!
