Petting Zoo

It's always fun to go to the zoo. And even more fun when the zoo comes to you. Look at all the furry and feathery friends we made today. Sure wish Lakeside could adopt a few of these to have as class pets!  Thanks, wonderful PTO, for the hands-on learning.

Earth Day

They call Earth the "blue planet" because it's covered in water. So was Coppell this week!!!  Thankfully the sun came out on Earth Day so we were able to do our part and pick up litter. The rest of the week, however, was soggy. So soggy that ducks found a new home on our playground field.

Look what was scattered on our playground! :(

Reading our rainy day poetry to Mrs. Bredberg.

Making Memories

Here's a smattering of pictures from the week that show our plearning.
Play + Learning = Plearning.

Making 3D shapes with toothpicks and marshmallows.

Super Scientist dazzles us with a lesson about air pressure. How does the cardboard stick to a glass full of water?

Planting seeds and hoping for sprouts to transfer to our new garden.

Fairy Tales are fascinating!

Mystery Reader

K2 is fortunate to be on the receiving end of family togetherness. Look at all the parents and grandparents serving as Mystery Reader! Thank you, one and all. We love this special time together!

Digging In

Volunteers and a generous grant from the Education Foundation make our Lakeside garden a reality!

Mystery Leader

Mystery Leader is quickly becoming one of K2's favorite features. We've had two surprise readers in as many weeks. CISD Board Member Tracy Fisher read about gardens, which was timed perfectly! Our Lakeside garden is now blooming.

Heather Cato,CISD Director of Language and Literacy, made us wonder and laugh at a book about a frog.

Mystery Leader and Mystery Reader. A dynamic combination!
