Who's Grouchy?

We were treated to another Mystery Leader this week. CISD Board Member Susie Kemp visited K2 and read an Eric Carle classic which, of course, led us to talking and writing about being grouchy.

Grouchy? Not so much. Adorable? You be the judge.

Field Day

Could there be any more fun than Field Day? Oh, what memories were made of the wet and dry good times! Our day started with bowling.
My favorite picture is always the collection of shoes!

Time to GET WET!

And then the wind blows so it's time to cozy up with a towel.

After snack and a short rest, it's back to the competition! On your mark, get set...here come relay races in the hall.

Then it's back outside for a Popsicle and more surprises!

The finale is FANTASTIC with a king-sized bounce house.

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Mary, Mary was quite contrary about her garden. But Lakeside is not! Here are a few pictures of a CISD garden/sustainability session I attended this week along with PTO Dad's Club volunteer, Jeff Trondson.
Jeff Trondson getting a hands-on lesson in composts!

There are good bugs and bad bugs in gardens. Slugs and roly-poly's are definitely bad bugs but show up daily. They aren't killed but gently taken away and put in the grass to help birds as they look for meals.

Chef Helen arrives with good news about serving garden vegetables in our school cafeteria.

How about this fantastic seed library?
One more composting lesson!

Fairy Tale Ball

And they danced and twirled and feasted like kings & queens and....lived happily ever after!
