Walking Field Trip
What better way to learn about trees and plants than a visit to the neighborhood nursery? We were treated like celebrities and got a close up view of many varieties of trees like Live Oak, Magnolia, Japanese Maple, Sago Palm and Junipers. Our young arborists observed different leaf shapes while picking up acorns and leaf samples.
As we headed back to Lakeside, the wonderful staff at the nursery gave each child a pansy. They were amazed to learn these lovely purple and yellow flowers can survive cold and snow.
