If freezing cold temperatures don't come our way, then we'll just GO TO THEM. A fun and sensory way to learn about winter and sub zero temperatures is to visit the walk-in freezer in our school cafeteria. Armed with small thermometers (for scientific data) and a partner (for moral support), we spent 3 minutes feeling the effects of 8 below zero. The warm air, when we came out, never felt so good. We also read the book, Recess at 20 Below, to find out what our friends in Alaska experience every day.
