Daily Five

No doubt, you've heard your child talk about it. But you ask, "So what is DAILY 5"! It is a series of literacy tasks which students complete daily while I meet with small groups or individual students. Ask your child to tell you their favorite. Read to Self. Word Work. Listening to Reading. Working on Writing. Or Read to Someone -- and don't forget EEKK. That's short for elbow-to-elbow, knee-to-knee. It's all about helping students develop the daily habits of reading, writing and working with peers that leads to a lifetime of independent literacy.
