Our study of oviparous animals takes on new meaning when you get to experience it UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL. The eggs arrived from the farmer on March 25 and that's when our countdown started. It takes 21 days for a chick to hatch from a fertilized egg. The incubator is set at 100 degrees. Mixed with the right amount of humidity, a slow but steady egg turner and a bit of luck, we should be welcoming our oviparous friends on Sunday, April 14. It sure is fun and a little nerve wracking being chicken farmers!
