Our field trip to the Coppell Nature Park and new Biodiveristy Center gives these learners a wonderful way to see Mother Nature in all her spring splendor. It also provides a wonderful way to see and learn about things we don't see everyday, like a "bat house". Who knew we even had bat houses in Coppell?
There's so much to see as we hike on the many paths and trails, escorted by a knowledgable Coppell volunteer. Thank goodness we didn't see any poison ivy!
A "trash-free lunch" gives us nutrition for more learning and a chance to help the earth.
Look at the interesting shapes in the walls, courtesy of leaves and shells carefully placed in the brick during construction. They look like fossils and are fun to photograph!
We decide to put the natural remains from our lunch into a compost. On the bus ride back to Lakeside, we stop at the Coppell Community Garden to make it an extra "green" learning experience.
